Sales & Product Development ,
Co-founder and raconteur

I started out in the travel biz in 1994 as a Tour Leader for our parent company. Before that I attended the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada, which is probably where I got the notion to see some of the places featured in all those anthropology textbooks. So I hit the open road with my backpack and best friend (straight, cute as a button…), and spent six months traipsing through Africa. Over six years of Tour Leading followed (wow, a job that was actually related to my degree), until some strange nesting hormone kicked in and I began to long for something a little more domestic. These days I live vicariously through our travellers and Tour Leaders, spreading the joy and helping them make their travel dreams come true. Now and then I get out there to sample the product, most recently on an amazing trip to Peru.

Communication & Design,
Department of Gooor-jus Things

I grew up in Toronto, Canada and moved to Vancouver in 1992. A year later, I began working for Adventures Abroad as an international Tour Leader. Over the years I managed to work in all departments of 'Mother', gaining a well-rounded knowledge of the tourism industry. That, together with my formal training in geography, art history and graphic design makes for a great combination to head up Outgoing's communication and design department. I was married in Vancouver's Stanley Park in July, 2006; my husband Matthew and I immigrated to Australia in January 2007. We live in Melbourne and enjoy the many cultural delights of the city, but we like to get out and see the world, too. Recent trips include Thailand, Tasmania, Sydney, South Korea and New Zealand.
